Biography

Richard Bailey

Richard Bailey was born in Moab, Utah and graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah. He received his Masters of Art from the University of Southern California. He is a retired lieutenant colonel of the U. S. Air Force where he was a pilot (instructor and examiner) with over 7000 flight hours which included 575 combat hours in Vietnam. He also owned and managed a restaurant and multiple real estate investments. Subsequently, he became seriously interested in the world of art as a collector, a photographer, an artist, an art instructor, and a docent at several art museums.

While living in the Netherlands for several years, Richard developed his artistic style which presents a raw natural talent in combining color and texture in a variety of medium. He has had numerous one-man shows and received many positive reviews. These shows led to purchases of several of his significant works by major foreign museums, and many international art collectors. He conducted individualized docent tours of many of the major art museums in Europe. Locally he has been part of the docent program at a local art museum and conducts art instruction in oil painting and abstract art.

Richard has completed a dozen marathons, continues a motivated exercise program and is a cancer survivor.
